The Previous Life...
I spent a huge chunk of my life as a motorcycle development test rider - just over a quarter of a century infact... The job that is the dream of every motorcyclist...
During those years I've managed to ride bikes through 30 different countries and tested at every major test track and proving ground in the UK, along with several in other countries. I've ridden over mountain tops testing at high altitude, through deserts testing in super-high temperatures, been blasted by jet engines in wind tunnels, almost shook to pieces on pave tracks and 'special' surfaces and covered well over one million miles on two wheels.
I'm the author of a 2015 book called 'Test Rider - the true motorcycling adventures of a secret development test rider' - the first and only book to have been written by a motorcycle development test rider and also the first book to detail the highly secretive world of test riding manufacturer's prototypes. The book sold over 10,000 copies worldwide.
I've written articles and features for several motorcycle magazines over the years, including, Motorcycle Sport & Leisure (UK), Adventure Bike Rider (UK), Motociclismo (Portugal), Australian Motorcycle News (Australia), Classic Bike Guide (UK) and Triumph Magazine (International). I've been interviewed on TV and Radio a handfull of times.
I began riding dirt bikes when I was about 10 years old, became a motorcycle despatch rider in 1994 and then started working as a development test rider for Triumph Motorcycles at the end of 1996, test riding every prototype, experimental project and current model that the company produced, until I finally left in June 2016, sneeking away via the backdoor one Friday lunchtime after being invited to join Royal Enfield Motorcycles at their new UK Technical Centre, which meant that at that time I became the first British, UK based Royal Enfield test rider since the demise of the original British factory in 1970.
I'm keen ex-professional photographer and once had my own photographic studio called 'Uncle Joes' where I photographed musicians, bands, groups, actors and general fashion portraits.
Currently...
I trained in my spare-time as an actor in 2017 and after working part-time as an extra have since had a few featured roles on TV and film including on Pennyworth series 3, D.I Ray series 2, Get Millie Black, Three Little Birds, This Town, Pheonix High and Polite Society. I also landed major roles in the horror movies, Goldilock & the Three Bears - Death & Poridge and The Eight and I'm currently filming in the lead role for a film called, 'What Happened to Mary'.
